The McDonald Williams Law Firm, the law office of Simone Williams and Tanea McDonald, is one of Charlotte’s only women-owned and operated law firms serving Charlotte, Mecklenburg and surrounding counties. Simone and Tanea are trial attorneys with over 25 years of experience who are passionate about meeting the specific needs of their clients. They meet with each client one on one to discuss not only the pressing legal matter, but the bigger picture in order to develop a strategic plan that will work to insure a positive outcome for each client. As former law school professors, they have a deep understanding of the rule of law and strong relationships in the legal environment in which they work every day.

Both attorneys are committed to family. Simone is a married mother of five and Tanea is a married mother of two. They are also committed to service and they find time to give to those in need. Since 2008, Attorney Williams has served as a volunteer attorney and custody advocate with the Council for Children’s Right. She also volunteers with Safe Alliance to provide free legal representation to victims of domestic violence.

Attorney McDonald has dedicated a large portion of her practice to court-appointed criminal cases where she provides legal representation to those with limited financial resources. She is also committed to developing the next generation of lawyers and leaders. For 10 years, she has lectured at law schools around the country to help get students mentally and emotionally prepared for the Bar exam and the practice of law. For the past four years she has been a guest lecturer at a special program for extraordinary law students at Harvard Law School and NYU School of Law to inspire the next generation of leaders to be compassionate and competent lawyers.
